FORM FOR SUPPORTING THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET AND ITS INSCRIPTION ON THE UNESCO REPRESENTATIVE LIST OF THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY
Considering that the Mediterranean Diet is part of our Cultural Heritage, a set of knowledge, event, spaces, objects and food models that Mediterranean people have transmitted from generation to generation during thousand of years;
Considering that the Mediterranean Diet is a way of life and an expression of a sustainable system rooted in the respect for the territory, in the traditional use and management of natural resources, in local promotion and consumption, and taking into account seasonal cycles and biodiversity;
Aware of the erosion process threatening the Mediterranean Diet, due to the effects of globalisation and socio-cultural changes, and its negative consequences on the health and well-being of the people, the stability of the rural populations, the protection of the environment and biodiversity;
Convinced of the need for a common effort to safeguard this ancient cultural heritage through all possible actions;
I EXPRESS MY SUPPORT TO THE NOMINATION FOR THE INSCRIPTION OF THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET ON THE UNESCO REPRESENTATIVE LIST OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY:
According to Law 15/1999 of December 13th on Personal Data Protection, the Mediterranean Diet Foundation (FDM), informs that the data voluntary provided by filling the support form will be confidentially incorporated in the FDM’s database.
